Udine schools in the network 2.0 Project

Realization of the website of the Udine schools, foreseen within the joint initiative of the Didactic Direction of Udine and the Municipality of Udine.

With this platform five institutions in Udine (45 school buildings) manage the circulation of information, documents and articles, both internally (reserved areas) and externally.

The site is used by the school's staff to carry out their work, by students for educational activities, by parents to interact with the school and the teachers, by external users to access information relating to school activities.

The “Udine schools in network 2.0 - Fruts" Project was implemented with the open source Plone CMS.

Six websites have been activated (5 for the institutes and 1 for the general project), each independent although interoperable with the others.

In each site three sections have been activated: institutional, informational, operational.

In the institutional area, general information, documents and data sheets are made available for each school complex, geo-referenced in Google Maps.

The informational area includes articles, news, events, agenda and calendar, information documents.

The operational area is reserved for school staff and students with different roles and permits. Inside this it is possible to activate surveys, questionnaires, logbooks, guestbooks, newsletters, and commenting systems.

Teachers can create groups of users (classes) for the management of educational projects, even transversal in the different institutions.

At a later stage, the project integrated functionalities for online management of school scrutiny, registers and report cards.

Parents can access a restricted area of the site to consult the data relating to their children (absences, forgetfulness, notes, etc.) as well as view and print the final report card.
